CodeZinger is sharply focused in assisting computer science departments at higher-ed and extended learning institutions foster foundational programming skills in students.
Our Story
CodeZinger was born from our experience hiring fresh software engineers straight out of college. When administering coding tests to assess applicants coding skills, we came to realize that many applicants actually had limited exposure to coding during their academic years which was impacting their job prospects.
Graduating students admitted that they had not spent as much time on coding assignments as desired. Many Educators acknowledged that they felt overwhelmed developing, administering, grading, evaluating and providing feedback to students on coding assignments – so it was often not getting done systematically. This was a BIG PROBLEM for employers like us as well!
Hence we set out to develop and launch CodeZinger, an affordable coding lab platform for education institutions… We are hopeful this platform will help many education institutions bridge the coding skills gap in their students!
We are making programming classes ‘real’!
The real deal
With CodeZinger, you go well beyond Flash cards, multiple choice questions, fill-in-the-blank and other limited knowledge assessment approaches – students apply learnt concepts to coding problems that resemble problems they may encounter in the real world.
Learning Unbound
By putting students on a learning path to tackle problems of gradually increasing complexity, CodeZinger helps ensure students achieve their full potential.
No rote learning
With CodeZinger, students apply learned concepts and get a realistic assessment of their level of progress and readiness. Students are not given a false sense of achievement that is often caused by memorization and success with fill-in-the-blank type assessment questions.
Keeping faculty-students connected
CodeZinger ensures faculty is constantly in the loop while students practice and submit assignments thereby making early intervention possible.
